Les ventes de bois des forêts publiques en 2019

Abstract : The deepening crisis caused by the spruce bark beetle and adverse economic conditions internationally have led to a 12% drop in revenue from wood produced in state forests. There has been an average decrease of 9% in wood prices, and more for oak and, worse still, spruce. In the case of oak, the less sought-after wood and lower-grade wood face difficulties whereas wood for cooperage is in great demand. Proliferation of bark beetles has also led to decreased demand for pines and beech, with a drop both in volume and prices. Volumes sold under supply contracts have increased by 2% and play their regulating role.
