Problématiser un commentaire comparé d'oeuvres musicales écoutées : scénarios de formation

Abstract : The test of "comparative commentary on recorded musical excerpts" is, in France, part of the curriculum of the external CAPES of music education and choral singing since the 2011 session. Often associated with aural analysis, the listening commentary requires a solid knowledge of music history, technical skills, methodological skills and writing skills for the written test. The jury reports for the competition insist on the need to acquire this knowledge but also on the importance of organizing it by constructing a problematic and a plan. Although some books deal with listening commentary and its methodology, to our knowledge, none of them deals with comparative, problematized sound commentary. This test is therefore complex because it requires numerous skills and knowledge qualified by psychologists as secondary, in this case high level. The comparative sound commentary test is therefore a challenge for the students but also for the teacher who must provide the students with an effective methodology for their preparation. We will analyze the contents of books dealing with the listening commentary through the prism of the expectations of the tests resulting from the jury reports. We will then propose training scenarios, tested with candidates, before discussing the impact of these proposals.
